Mac Hops Motueka

Exal was approached by Brent McGlashen, managing director of Mac Hops Motueka to disassemble, pack, stack and categorize two 30 year old+ glasshouses in Richmond Nelson and relocate and rebuild on his site. Because of the age of the glasshouses these did not meet today’s current engineering standards so Exal worked closely with a team of local engineers to provide a suitable and cost-effective solution to meet current building consent requirements. Exal then manufactured new posts, bracing and truss support rails in-house to closely manage quality and cost as well as timing. After receiving the all clear to proceed from Tasman District Council, Exal commenced construction with making some major improvements along the way and with recommendations on environment controls we were able to deliver a very high-quality propagating facility for Brent.
