Exal Balance Arm Mist Controller

The balance arm mist controller has been manufactured for many years by Exal and is a cost effective way to automatically water small cuttings. It can be purchased on it’s own or in a misting kit complete with a transformer, solenoid valve, 3 misting nozzles and a wiring loom with full instructions.

ET 0-40 Thermostat

It comes complete with a 1 metre long capillary tube that may be fitted into media for accurate remote sensing. It also comes in several options such as standard, phase interrupt, 3 stage and aspirated. All models come in a tough plastic weather proof enclosure and have a control range from 0 -40˚C. They have a large easy read dial and a 15 amp double throw switch for either heating or cooling. All models can be fitted into our own stainless steel aspirator box which comes complete with fan, guards, cable entry and hanger hooks.

Soil Warming Cable

The principal of soil warming cables is the same as that of under floor heating in homes. Depending on the bench size a correct size cable is chosen and buried in coarse sand. When the cable is activated by the built in thermostat it heats the entire mass of sand to the desired temperature. This sand then has huge thermal inertia and therefore stays the same temperature without constantly turning on and off giving better results. The cables are double insulated and have an aluminum internal sheath which allows the cable to be installed with ease. The cables come in 5 standard sizes but custom sizes are no problem.

Ventilation

Stirrer Fans

Exal manufacture the widely known stirrer fan known as the Vortex fan and distributed by Redpath Pacific all over New Zealand and Australia. The Vortex fan has a powder coated aluminium cowl, polypropylene fan, injection molded safety grills, Injection molded aerofoil uPVC motor mounts and high temperature 100% duty cycle single phase powder coated motor. They have an air throw of approx 45 metres inside a house and when set up properly will gradually set a horizontal airflow around a greenhouse.

Evaporative Cooling Inlet Systems

The Evaporation process is the oldest and most economical method of cooling air or product known to man and is fundamentally very simple. Celdek Evaporative media is a cellulose honeycomb product that wets very thoroughly and allows a maximum surface area to incoming air. As incoming air is drawn through the media, moisture evaporates from the honeycomb surface and chills the air in the process. The Evaporative Cooling Inlets incorporate Celdek Evaporative Cooling media in rigid sheets 1000mm high x 600mm wide x 100mm thick. Fitted into an aluminium framework and installed into a wall opposite a fan, air is drawn through the media and may cool the incoming air by up to 30% The media is kept damp by a minimal water flow from a perforated pipe fitted along the top.

Air inlets

The access of airflow into a house is very critical to effective environment control and fan performance. This must be sized correctly to minimize the air velocity and suction loading on the fan blades. Exal provide a range of sizes with aluminium frames and UPVC louvres which are all automatic and can build custom sizes to fit most situations.

Extraction fans

Exal import the excellent Euroemme wall fan series and the EM 50 is the largest size we have. These are complete units and provide very large volumes of airflow. With galvanized steel cabinets, stainless steel blades and galvanized automatic louvers, a choice of single and three phase as well as guards over the louvres, propeller, pulleys and fan belt they are a world wide industry standard and excellently priced.

Heaters

Stainless Steel Fan Heaters

The Exal series of electric fan heaters have been in the market place since 1978 and have well proven themselves as the ideal heater for the Factory, Warehouse Glasshouse, Poultry or Piggery shed. Each Exal heater is fitted with a high volume/low noise fan that passes up to twice the amount of airflow over the elements, thereby generating a modest air output temperature of only 55 deg Celsius. However this large volume of warm air is easily distributed throughout the room by the efficient With the lower temperature gradient, the gentle air movement will distribute it widely and thoroughly to maximum effect without dehydrating or otherwise disturbing the crop. The EXAL range is available in two sizes with three models in each size. The Exal heaters come complete with all control equipment fitted as standard. These include the isolator, contactors, thermostat, control fuse, overrun timer, three overheat safety devices, a fan failure switch and cold run switch. All 3000 and 4000 Series heaters have been designed to last even in a corrosive environment.

Screens

Shade/energy screens are used in glasshouses both to economise on heating bills and to maintain light levels and temperatures. There is a large variety of fabric with differing characteristics to choose from. Typically the cloth is attached to wires at the top chord of a truss and drawn between 2 trusses by a push/pull or cable drive system attached to a central torque tube driven by a gear motor. The screen can be controlled by humidity, temperature or light sensors as well as timers. We can supply quotes for all types of screens, roll up wall screens, blackouts etc. and can install them anywhere.
